Opportunity Knox Charity CLG is a dedicated “no overheads” organisation focused on breaking the cycle of grinding poverty through the promotion of education for children in the artisanal gold-mining community of Tiira Village, Uganda. Our primary mission is to ensure vulnerable students have access to a complete education by providing fully paid school fees, daily porridge lunches, uniforms, and vital scholastic materials. Recognising that education requires a stable home, we also provide a holistic support system that includes emergency food aid, medical care, sanitary pads for girls, and home improvements like repairing leaking roofs and digging latrines. Through specialised initiatives such as our Phonics Reading Programme, we are committed to building lasting literacy skills for over 1,500 local pupils, ensuring they can master the English-medium curriculum required for national success. Most importantly, we guarantee that 100% of every public donation goes directly to the children’s welfare and schooling, as our Trustees personally cover all administration and travel expenses.
